Sakura

is the Japanese word for cherry blossom. It represents the transient nature of life. The beautiful and delicate flowers that bloom on the cherry blossom tree are reminders that change is the only constant in this short life. In counseling, I am interested in helping you find your strength and meaning in this process.

I use both talk and art therapy. In art therapy we can visually explore ideas that transcend words, or, are difficult to verbalize. Knowledge of art or art making are not important, being open to the process in a different way is what is important.

Mindfulness

Helping you become more aware of your identity, actions, intuitions, and encourage you to be authentic and present in all aspects of your life. This is a challenging and evocative process when overcoming traumatic history, depression, anxiety and loss of self.

Resilience

Something led you into therapy, be it an issue, loss, trauma, or simply a desire to understand yourself better. By merely engaging in the work of therapy you have shown motivation for creating a better life and I would like to both illuminate and help you master these skills.

Creativity

This awesome power we all have challenges us to be more than the sum of our parts, in order to transcend our own concepts for wellness. Learning perspectives and how to tap into creativity is foremost in my philosophy of wellness.
